Break the Spell
Reclaim Your Attention, Energy and Life in a Digital World

Do you ever find yourself...
• Picking up your phone without thinking?
• Losing an hour scrolling when you meant to check one message?
• Feeling mentally exhausted but unable to disconnect?
• Struggling to concentrate on work, hobbies or conversations?
• Constantly comparing yourself with others online?

You're not alone.

Our devices are designed to capture attention—but you can learn how to take it back.

Break the Spell is an 8-week small-group program that helps you understand why digital habits are so difficult to break and gives you practical tools to build healthier routines, stronger relationships and a greater sense of purpose beyond the screen.

Rather than simply telling you to "use your phone less," we'll help you understand the emotional, psychological and biological forces that drive digital habits, so you can create meaningful and lasting change.

What You'll Take Away

✓ Stop reaching for your phone automatically

✓ Feel more present in conversations

✓ Improve your sleep and energy

✓ Concentrate for longer

✓ Reduce comparison with others

✓ Enjoy time away from your devices without anxiety

✓ Replace mindless scrolling with activities that genuinely energize you

✓ Create digital habits that support—not control—your life

✔ Spend more time on your phone than intended

✔ Struggle to disconnect from work or social media

✔ Find it difficult to concentrate

🕒 Time: 7:00–8:00 pm
🔁 Duration: 8 weekly sessions
📍 Venue: The Counselling Place

👥 Group Size: 4–8 participants

Groups are intentionally kept small (4–8 participants) to maximise participation and individual attention. If fewer than four participants enrol, we'll contact you to discuss alternative arrangements or the next available intake.

Why Small-Group Learning Works

Learning alongside others offers something that books, podcasts and individual learning cannot. Hearing different perspectives, sharing experiences and practising new skills together often leads to deeper understanding, greater confidence and lasting change.

Our groups are intentionally limited to 4–8 participants to create a safe, supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to participate, ask questions and receive individual attention from the facilitator.

Many participants also find that small-group programmes complement individual counselling by providing opportunities to apply new skills, learn from others and continue growing between therapy sessions.
