She is certified in providing crisis intervention by using Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS). She is also a certified facilitator for Signposts for Building Better Behaviour. She is an Associate member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a Provisional Clinical member of the Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC).

Swee has more than 7 years of clinical experience working with a diverse clientele globally (United States, Canada, UAE, China, India, etc.) in various settings, including crisis shelters, non-profit agencies, employee assistance programs, and universities. Growing up in Malaysia, Swee had spent most of her years in the US studying and working before relocating to Singapore. The combination of her diverse experiences overseas has led her to cultivate a true sense of cultural sensitivity and open mindedness, allowing her to gain a deep understanding for struggles and challenges that expats might be faced with home away from home.

Swee works with teens and adult individuals on depression, anxiety, life transition, grief and loss, stress management, body image, relationship, domestic violence, trauma, and self-harm issues. She is able to support the parents through these challenges as well. Swee is LGBTQ affirmative and has interest in helping individuals live and accept their most authentic selves.

Swee practices person-centered, cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and mindfulness approaches. Swee is a strong advocate for self-empowerment and believes that clients are their own experts in life. There are no good or bad feelings, just feelings with their own intentions and needs. Swee is committed to creating a caring and welcoming therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to explore their concerns without judgement. With the proper tools and appropriate guidance, clients can overcome life challenges and lead the life they wish for themselves.

Swee is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Malay; proficient in Teochew and Hokkien.
