Individual Psycho-vocational Assessment

This assessment is different from the usual "Career Guidance" or "Career Coaching" available in the market which only looks at career interest and/or personality.  A psycho-vocational assessment is a comprehensive evaluation completed by our Psychologist to assess an individual's cognitive abilities, academic skills, personality traits, and career interest.  This provides a more complete picture of the individual, resulting in an accurate guidance report with specific career and course recommendations matched to the individual's strengths, goals, and interests.  The assessment requires a full-day of one-to-one testing with a break for lunch.  A comprehensive report is provided two weeks after the assessment has been completed.  The Psycho-vocational Assessment package includes the following:

  • A cognitive ability assessment (IQ)
  • An academic achievement assessment
  • A career interest assessment
  • A personality assessment

Suitable for:

  • Students planning for their educational specialisation, college & university education, and future career
  • Adults who are exploring mid career changes, undergoing a career crisis, or returning to workforce after some period of absence
  • Employees experiencing retrenchment or down-sizing
  • Individuals with barriers to employment, such as physical, mental health or cognitive disability
  • Students with educational disabilities (e.g., reading disorder -dyslexia) who require a Psychologist's report to obtain accommodations in university or college and would like assistance in choosing a career path that would match their abilities, interests, and goals

Cost

  • $1400

Group Career/Educational Planning Assessments

The yearly tuition cost (not including food and shelter) ranges from S$6,110 (NUS) to S$33,995 (American universities).  Research indicates that setting career goals is a crucial step toward success in university and college.  Students who are committed to a career path save time and money by focusing on courses that are relevant to their goals.

A career/educational planning assessment provides realistic career recommendations based upon formal testing of abilities, values, and interests.  A match between the youth's abilities and possible careers assists the child and parent with educational planning.

The assessment is conducted as a group over 3 hours.  Each student will receive an individualized 7-8 page report outlining his or her strengths and most suitable career paths.  A 1/2 hour feedback session (in person or on phone) with the youth and parent(s) or caregivers is also provided.  The minimum number in the group is 4 and the maximum is 6.  Due to the nature of testing, we regret that we cannot make exceptions to the maximum number of students allowed at one time.

Tools

  • Career Occupational Preference System (COPS)
  • Career Ability Placement Survey (CAPS)
  • Career Orientation Placement and Evaluation Survey (COPES)
